The Lustrafjorden is surrounded by high and steep mountainsides. Here it is easy to see and find, including a drive on the romantic road that runs from Skjolden to the stave church on Ornes. Here it narrow and tortuous, but idyllic.
You pass small villages such as Sørheim and Kroken and you can park in Feigum and walk half an hour up to the impressive Feigefossen, which plunges into free fall 218 down the valley above.
On the UNESCO World Heritage List is Norway's oldest stave church, which you can find on Ornes. Take your time here and let yourself be impressed by the fact that this wooden house of worship has stood on the same site for almost 900 years!
If you want to make a round trip from Luster Fjordcabins, take the ferry over to the charming Solvorn and dock back via Hafslo.
The Lustrafjorden can be enjoyed by itself from land but also from boat, soup/kayak/canoe with more, you will get the feeling of mighty mountains and beautiful fjord anyway.
